The app on my iPhone seems to work except for when I tap on remote it wakes up the player but when I swipe to navigate nothing happens. I can feel the haptics on the phone but no matter where I touch or swipe on the screen nothing happens. I have the Strato V.

No. It was user error. Not realizing you had to start the movie first before the play, pause screen comes up.
Thanks for checking.

Okay, that's good. You should still have been able to navigate around the OSD though, using the touch pad.

Hi I've go an issue with my recently installed Strato V. I can't get to play a movie although my remote (physical and app on iPhone) recognises the player and I have setup and purchased movies from my K account. On the phone app for example, when I touch the 'remote' icon, I see a blank box with a '?' and says: 'swipe here to navigate'. Am I doing something stupid? Thank you in advance.

That sounds like the tutorial overlay is being displayed. You can either tap "Next" to work your way through the tutorial steps or tap "Dismiss" to make the tutorial go away. You may also have to select a zone to control from the dropdown control at the top of the screen (where it reads "Select Zone" if a player isn't selected)

Thanks John for such a quick reply. I have gone through this and clicked 'Done' but the screen still remains. My player is recognised and is listed at the top of the screen.

Would you mind snapping a screenshot of what you see and posting it? If you're seeing the player name at the top and "Swipe to navigate", that indicates that the app is connected to the player and should in fact be able to control it.

Sure here is what I see. Strato is recognised and online but can’t get rid of this demo screen I’ve tried to go to ‘my movies’ and long press to start it, but no joy. Thanks for your trouble Mike IMG_7836.png

Okay, that is actually not the demo screen. That's the normal remote screen. What happens if you tap the Movies or Store or Menu buttons there?

Nothing happens!
At the risk of asking an insulting question, are you looking at the OSD of your Strato V or are you expecting to see something on your mobile app screen? That remote tab is just a controller to navigate around on the Strato's OSD.

Based on your screenshot, the remote is connected to your player and should be working. If you're not seeing any reaction on your display device that your player is connected to, you should contact Support. There may be some clues in the logs

Would this be expected behaviour, which I doubt, if the app wasn't allowed to find devices on the network ( in privacy/network/kaleidescape app on Mac)?

Thank you very much

No, if the device was not allowed to see local-network devices, you'd see a very prominent message telling you as much. The fact that DeeJay is seeing a zone name means that the app was able to perform device discovery on the network, identify components, and successfully connect to the device (which is how it gets the zone name).

@DeeJay, taking a quick step back, I think you wrote above that you also have a physical remote control, and that is also not able to control your player? Is that one of these?

Thanks Mike. This is my remote. It should be on HDMI3 on my amp which I have cycled through and tried the others but neither remote nor app play a movie.

@DeeJay, please contact our support team at support@kaleidescape.com. We're really not set up to provide support of this nature via the forums. They'll be able to get you sorted out.

I would like to confirm one thing, though: you should be seeing the onscreen display of the player on your TV. If you're not, then that's not a problem with the remote. That's an issue with the HDMI connection to the receiver or display. (Or the player could be in standby, but I don't think that's the case because the mobile app would show a message to that effect and it doesn't in your screenshot.)

Either way, the support folks can assist.

Great. Makes sense. I’ll contact support. Many thanks to everyone for your kind help.
