Region Codes on M500 ?

Tom

New member
Hello specialists,

is there a possibility to unlock the Region Codes of the M500 Player ?
I want to have a look on all my Blu-Ray Disks (A, B, C) in one Player

What can I do ?
Any Insider Tricks / hints ?

Thanks,
Tom

You cannot "unlock" Region codes in the M-Series (M500/M300) Players. Each Player has its own Region. Once a movie is imported to the Server (using the correct region for the movie), it can be played back on ANY M500/M300 in your system (assuming of course that you have at least one Player with the same region code somewhere in your system, and turned on).

From Kaleidescape FAQ

"Each M-Class component (M500 Player, M300 player) is shipped designated for Blu-ray Disc region A, B, or C. The Blu-ray Disc region code of the M-Class component cannot be changed by the user.

ANY M500 Player and ANY Modular Disc Vault can import Any Blu-ray Disc.

An imported Blu-ray movie will play if a component of the system matches the region code specified by the disc. If the disc is not recognized by the Kaleidescape Movie Guide, enter the region code using the browser interface to ensure proper playback.

Blu-ray Discs played from the tray must match the region code of the player."

Given the above a single M500 and 2xM300 players with a modular disc vault would enable the import and playback of a 3 Region BR collection plus DVD and CD.

It may worth noting the forthcoming Incorporated Disc Vault will probably be region specific as it incorporates a M500 player.

Correct, assuming each of the 3 Players is different region.

(Thanks for posting the FAQ info, I know we have this posted in other threads as well, but the question still comes up.):)

I am a big fan of Kaleidescape's FAQ...they are well pitched, well edited and frequently updated...... a pleasant change from many FAQ's.

Definitely worth a visit especially if the product line has been updated.

Agree, most questions appearing and reappearing on the forum can be answered by reading the FAQ, and unlike most other FAQ's K does work to keep it current.:)
