Question on Ultra HD upgrades

Today I received an email from the Kaleidescape store advertising Dunkirk in 4K HDR. The email mentions that this movie will soon be available in 4K Ultra HD. If I purchase the movie today in 4K HDR, would I have to pay to download the 4K Ultra HD version of this movie when it becomes available?

From what I have seen, if you buy the HDR version you are automatically able to access all other versions of that same title. Assuming it is exactly the same release (ie theatrical or special/extended edition) then you can download UHD, HD, and/or SD free of charge if those are available at the same time or at a future date.

I believe this is accurate across the board for all studios so far.

I agree with all of this. However, I question whether “Dunkirk” will be available in a non-HDR 4K version. I have not seen any titles from Warner Bros. in 4K that do not have HDR. I haven’t seen the email that the OP mentions.

Yes, we will have both HDR and SDR versions of this movie available in 4K. Both versions are included with the 4K purchase, so you can download either or both, depending on what you need for your display devices.
