Out of Warranty Strato C?

I’m looking to add an additional Strato C (or 2) to my system, and I’m trying to determine if it makes sense to buy one thats out of warranty? I know it’s a risk, but I’m trying to figure out how risky. Basically, I have 2 questions:

1). What has been people’s experience with the reliability of the C? I’ve heard a number of stories about Stratos with storage that have failed, but I haven’t really heard any issues with the C. I’m hoping because they don’t have any moving parts, they are rock solid like the old M300s.

2). If an OOW Strato C did fail, are there any repair or trade-in options with Kscape? Or is it basically a brick?

Appreciate any insight!

My experience indicates they are very reliable overall. We've sold a bunch (dozens), and only had one that needed replacement under warranty.

There are no OOW repairs, so it would be subject to whatever policy was in place at the time. Currently can trade-in for movie credits.
