Has anyone ever had to use a field replaceable service kit to replace an optical drive in a 2nd Gen Cinema One. If so how easy or difficult is it. According to Kaleidescape that is one of the solutions that will cure my difficult reading Blu-ray Disc issues. Or I can send it to them with a 2 week turn a round.

Very easy. Pull the sticker of the back, the entire back is a sticker (comes with replacement, but I reused mine), few screws and the lid slides off. Few screws and the drive comes out.

30 minutes tops when it's on a bench.
