One of my movie players has gotten incredibly noisy... not sure how to describe it, it's not quite a grinding noise, but something between a normal fan noise and a grinding sound. Goes away when it's off. sounds like the fan is rubbing against something

Anyone else ever had this?

I'll drop a note to Kaleidescape Support and see what happens...

If the players have fans in them, which it seems they do, then my guess is the fan is dying. I have an audio request server (several years old otherwise Id be doing this with Kscape too) and the server started making the same sound and it was the fan.

Kaleidescape happily swapped out my Movie Player for a new one under warranty. No downtime for repairs. Another happy customer... and another reminder what kind of service we get when we buy an admittedly high-priced system like Kaleidescape.

As they should! :)

Warranty service is excellent at K. Not intending a "plug" here, but those with expiring warranties should consider extending while you still have time.
