Cooler than a sports car, even at Prima Cinema prices. Seriously. And I don't even care about that whole "well don't I get to keep a copy" crap...

It would be cool. I hope the powers that be make it happen. I would enjoy it a lot. At Prima Cinema prices I would skip it.

Man, you wanna talk about taking things to the next level! This is awesome. Even at its high prices, I can see this being totally worth it for some folks. Plus, I suppose you could treat it like some people do for PPV boxing or UFC. I've been to plenty of parties where the host would just split the costs and everybody would pay like $5 to cover it.

Imagine hosting a movie release event for big ones like Star Wars movies. Have a home theater that seats 12? You provide the drinks, popcorn, and the venue, and I bet you'd have an abundance of people happy to chip in for the cost of the movie.

This is a really exciting announcement and I can't wait to hear more news!

Pretty exciting stuff. I don't know about you guys, but when I take my family of 5 to the movies, between the outrageous ticket prices and the ridiculous amount of popcorn, candy, soda, hot dogs, etc., sometimes I end up spending well in excess of $100. Don't know what the costs would be like, but I'm certainly interested.

I hope watermarking is mandated, I am tired of listening to people tell me they have HD/UHD movies from torrents

Late to this discussion here, but I read the initial article a couple of months ago, and was very hopeful. I just wanted to chime in here and cast my vote in the affirmative for this, if it's able to be brought to market. We already have the hardware, and the ecosystem is locked down enough for it to be relatively "easy" to implement (not saying it's flipping a switch, but we could just have downloads with limited playback lives), so bring it on! I think $100-150 would be accepted by most owners for a one-time showing. I wouldn't personally do it every week, or every month, but for big stuff, you know I would!
