NEW Keos 10.3

Just received 10.3 update for my Strato today.

As usual, Kaleidescape bats another home run! The store module is well executed, and fun & intuitive to use. I ordered 2 movies off the store interface without a glitch. Very easy to navigate and explore related titles, directors, stars etc.

Tonight I intend to watch a movie that was having a lot of audio dropouts, and see if that issue is resolved.

Great job Kaleidescape!!
 
Small suggestion to Kaleidescape - the web based store now has an option to watch trailers for many movies. This would be a cool feature to consider adding to the next upgrade for Keos.
 
I just updated, too. One big difference is download speed. I was getting mid-90’s speed. Now I have gotten 119Mbps and 125Mbps on my first two downloads after upgrading.

I think this is actually a very important addition to the user experience. I very much missed that feature using the new interface. For example, watch excellent movie and get interested in an actor. Search for other movies with that actor. Watch a few trailers. Purchase a movie or two. One integrated experience.
 
Audio Dropouts Fixed!!!

I've had a number of titles that suffered from audio dropouts. Unfortunately I have not kept an accurate list.

The most egregious title in my library is Jupiter Ascending, and would have audio dropouts every 10 to 30 minutes. I watched it last night, after 10.3 update - zero audio dropouts!!

If anyone has a list of other titles with dropouts, post them here so we can test them.

The short answer is that the running the Movie Store on the player is actually pretty resource intensive. It requires a fair amount of CPU and GPU muscle, and the Alto was not able to deliver acceptable performance.
