The forum is free to use and most of the forum can be used by guests who are not registered....

... but we strongly encourage you to register for a full account. There is no cost to register for a full account.

Benefits of registering for a full account:

    • Participate in the discussions! You must have a registered account to make posts on the forums. You will be able to start your own thread on a topic or question, or you can reply to other threads/discussions.
    • Use the "Conversation" feature (known as "private messaging" on other forums) to communicate directly with any of the other users here.
    • Access the Files area. The "resources" area of the forum contains many "Favorite Scene" and Script files that can dramatically increase the enjoyment of your Kaleidescape system. Go directly to great scenes in your favorite movies, created by other owners, and add automation to playback of your system with Scripts.
    • You won't see this annoying notice at the top of every screen!😊

It's easy and free to register for the forum. Just click the "Register" button in the upper right corner of this page, and follow the instructions there.

  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Marketplace"? 🤔

All registered users can reply to other members' posts here in the Marketplace, to respond as potential buyer or ask questions of the seller.
However, only members who have paid to become "Premium" members or "Patrons" can make a new "for sale" post here in Marketplace.

Premium memberships can be purchased for as little as $10... a very reasonable fee in order to sell equipment here, far lower than the seller's fee would be on eBay or Audiogon or other sites. Our site doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. This small fee is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

For more information on purchasing a Premium or Patron membership, please see the Account Upgrades section of your user profile.

Brand new in box (still sealed) Kscape Encore Strato 4K player with Kscape 6TB hard drive. Also included is unopened rack mount hardware for the Strato. MSRP $4495 + $150 = $4645

$2999.99

That's a tempting gamble. Anyone know what the warranty situation would be on a secondary purchase like this?

Strato

I would guess 0% chance of warranty unless he is giving you one.
But that being said I still have my Strato and don't plan on getting rid of it.
I would be willing to bet that you will have many years of happy use with this unit but just make sure you keep it in a well ventilated area :)

Is the 0% chance based on Kscape closing the door, or that K won't honor a warranty on a unit sold on secondary market, even if it's still within warranty?

Strato

If Kaleisedsape reopens as Kaleidescape and returns to doing business as usual
Then yes the warranty will remain at 3 years.
But if they go BK or close down the hardware side of the business the the answer is no we are all SOL!
But that being said I think there's no way someone would not step up and have a support company or something like that.
There's way to many of these systems that have been sold not to.
The only thing you really need are hard drives, power supply's and a few other parts to keep these system running for the next ten to fifteen years.
I mean hell there's systems that have been running since 2001.
That's over fifteen years.
I think if people could get another five to fifteen years out of there system they would be happy.

This isn't really a secondary purchase. There've been no owners of this hardware. It is inventory that I'm thinning out due to the changes.

Still available never opened. I have a 6TB strato in a sealed UPS box (so 2nd box sealed still) and a strato rackmount in a ups box (2nd box again still sealed). Will create invoice so you'll have it dated your date of 1st purchase. Can provide pics if you want but it would be pics of 1 big and 1 little shipping box.

So did I, should have locked the thread, my apology.
