Hi,
Crestron has announced a new remote I´m really excited about. The new Cevo Mini remote.
This is a programmable and very versatile universal remote with the small form factor similar to the ATV remote. A lot of people still like to have a tactile button remote, but the other Crestron offerings like the HR-310 or TSR-310 are too big for their taste. The new Cevo Mini addresses that.
Nice features are dynamic configurable buttons (labels/icons change) and haptic feedback.

Can be used with Crestron Home and Crestron Custom programming.
Yes, it´s still Crestron, you need to have a Crestron dealer/programmer to sell and set it up for you.
EU MSRP is €710,-

Cheers,
Thorsten

I still think that if Amazon just made a 10-15 buttoned remote ideally with volume controls that would trigger the Alexa commands in the house that it would 'sell millions' ish.

I think I posted beforehand that I have Alexa pro remotes in 2 or 3 rooms and they have 2 customisable buttons that you can set really easily. Basically you use the command verbally and then in the app you choose the last command used as what it selects whenever you press that button going forward. TBH if it just had a lot more buttons it would already work for me. Without detailing it all out - it's very easy to make it smarter/far clearer too. They could keep the solution cheap or bump it up with displays etc but the gap for simple and flexible seems huge to me.

The thing is that most things in our house respond to Alexa already and increasingly so. I have had our Crestron programmer add Alexa commands for those things that weren't already 'Alexa'd' but TBH they haven't had to add anything for years now.

It wouldn't cost 700 euros either ;) - I did suggest it a few times to Amazon that expanding that could be great but I think that I asked when they were ultra profit focused and looking to cut back development costs. The other idea I did have was to use those 'buttons' they introduced but they disappeared before I got the chance :) and there are several 3rd party ones but it's really a simple remote that I would like. There argument I suspect would be that you customise the pause command to a button and then you can say whatever you like to your Alexa which tbf works but often you don't want to pause everything.

Anyway - sorry for the rambling post but I have been back and forth to it throughout the day.

No worries. The nice thing is: everybody can pick the solution that fits their own way of life, taste and budget.
My post was just about to inform there‘s a new alternative available. 😊

Apologies if my post was misleading - Yours was a good post and thank you for letting me/us know because I hadn't seen anything about it. It just triggered a thought which is a hobby horse of mine.

It's good news as it is a different and cheaper option than they have offered previously. :)

I have been hoping for something similar but for Home Assistant. I basic 10-15 button (tactile) HA integrated programmable remote would be ideal for me. Don't need fancy screen, don't need IR or IR blasters. Don't need rechargeable or charging doc...wafer battery would be fine. Definitely do not need nor want to have to pay some integrator everytime I want to set something up.

Remember when Crestron had the ST-1500 handheld remotes? That begat the non tactile remotes, which, in turn have begat this iteration. There may have been a few more non/tactile remotes as well that intervened. Just like lapels...narrow/wide, etc..

thank you very much
