"Net Neutrality" and Kaleidescape

For the US based forum members...

I thought that someone might post about the recent decision that the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit made regarding the Federal Communications Commission's "net neutrality" rules (Open Internet Order).

Has anyone in the dealer network heard of a Kaleidescape opinion or position on this issue? I would think that they stand to be affected by this as they expand and promote the download store more and more or could creatively market Kaleidescape's traditional product line-up (before the store) as being unaffected / immune.

Thoughts?

I think it's still a little early to know the impact on K's ability to move content to us end users. This is still an unsettled area, and while the recent ruling does answer one question (for now), potential issues for K may not present for quite awhile, if at all.

Maybe it's time to consider satellite distribution directly to our Servers!:D

Hopefully that will change soon.....

I doubt this will be an issue for Kaleidescape. First, they're too small for ISPs to notice or care about the bandwidth usage... but even if they did start to throttle Kaleidescape traffic, it wouldn't be that much of an impact since we're not streaming titles, we're downloading them. Downloads could take slightly longer but not a big deal.
