Needed or Wanted changes to carry Kaleidescape forward

Hm. I'm not aware of any reason why that would be different on Strato. May be a bug.

My guess is since alto/strato don't do music is was left off. It's mostly used for music servers but savant did some cool things with the remotes and movie covers. Me and my clients lived it.

This is a simple want but I wish there was an 'All Movies' Collection, that automatically included all movies on the system. I actually like the collections views better than the "List" view, since it has the large cover art.

You can actually do this yourself and using the browser interface makes this process very easy:

1. Create your collection - I used "Movies".
2. Go to the browser interface - Movies.
3. Select All
4. At the bottom of the page select your new collection and then hit "Add to Collection".

Voila! You have a collection with all of your movies listed.

Alternately, you can use the "New" collection. On Encore systems, this collection shows all content on the system (reverse chronological order -- newest at the top).

To achieve this same effect on Premiere systems, change the "New movies and albums stay in the New collections for" setting to "Forever".

This trouble that Kaleidascape are in has highlighted what dead weights the new line of products will be without Kscape. I had a Strato and Terra on order before but due to a 4 week delivery date was able to cancel the order when the news came out, as for a new client they would be useless.

I see two ways of making sure their flagship products do not become dead weights -

1. Allow the customer to catalogue their own movies. This keeps the disc vault relevant (although they would need a vault that supports uhd discs)

2. Open it up so that if Kscape store is offline, then client can buy and download from a 3rd party, say Vudu.
