Movies with Incorrect Aspect Ratio Information

Just a note here...I've recently installed a Lumagen Radiance Pro so I may be less likely to notice the differences between Info screens and files, but I'll still update when I see things, and keep the master list updated with anyone else's submissions.

In looking for demo material, I'm looking for quality demo clips to show the tallest of the tall (1.33) and the widest of the wide (2.76). I have a decent 2-minute clip of The Hateful Eight (sadly just HD) that shows that wide shape, so I think I'm good there. I'll have a backup of La La Land (2.55) just in case. Women Talking was literally just that.

So far I have Zach Snyder's Justice League for the 1.33 content. It's a compelling battle scene, great audio, and goes tall just fine. It's 5.5 minutes though and I don't have a backup for that. Are there any compelling 1.33 ratio scenes I should download? I wish IMAX released their 1.4 ratio content as such.

Cheers,
Chris

I think K just sticks with textbook aspect info like 1.78, 1.85, 2.35 and 2.40. They don't seem to ever go outside of that nomenclature for some reason.

I believe the response I received was that, while they technically could provide actual AR in the display, they are currently only displaying what the K tells control systems, which then has some adjustments for the in-between ratios. I started this list before I added the Lumagen, since I was using specific lens memory settings for each AR and would notice it each time. The list is likely out of date now that the Lumagen handles aspect ratio detection and I simply run my masking into the edge of the image.

Just finished downloading The Creator, excited for that one. Been following all the indie filmmaker comments on the image. Hoping it lives up to the hype.

You can select 2.76 by using your remote. Info from one of the firmware updates: Output aspect ratio range extended and can now be up to 2.76. Added an option to add some uncommon input aspects -- under Input: Options: Aspect Setup: Aspect Opts: there is a setting Input Aspects used which can be Normal or Extended. Extended adds 1.375 pillarbox, 1.66 pillarbox, 2.10, 2.55 and 2.76 to the list of supported input aspects. Once the extended input aspects are enabled they can be selected via remote (or rs232) with the +10 key followed by 4:3,lbox,16:9,1.85,2.35, NLS key for 1.33 pillarbox,1.375pillarbox,1.66 pillarbox,2.10,2.55,2.76 respectively. Auto aspect doesn't currently detect the extended input aspects.

Wondering what the difference would be for these ratios? Will this setting ignore the bars for DTM calculation, or something else? Obviously the ARs in-between scope and 16x9 would be for scaling on a scope screen, but once you go past 2.35 or 2.4, I can't think of any other effect except for ignoring black for DTM?

Good lord, that's a lot of work and a lot to remember! Some of us are too old for this! LOL
