Matrix and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in HDR?

“The Matrix” is due to be released on disc tomorrow. We’ll see if it shows up in the store.

John

Yup, and The Matrix is remastered from the 35mm print, so it will be true 4K, not digital 1080p (2K master) like some remastered "4K" movies. Also like the fact that the original director of photography supervised the remastering (Pope). They also upgraded the audio to Atmos.

Jim

It's Warner Bros. so I am going to say: Yes, it will.

John

I saw annihilation 4k HDR with Atmos for 14.99 and 3 dollar credit at VUDU - there is a price war going on here - I bought K version for $34.99....
Interesting to say the least...

I watched bits and pieces of the Matrix HDR yesterday and I thought it looked and sounded very very good. Not quite as clean as the newest stuff, but thats to be expected. I thought some of the ADR was a little obvious in just a few places, but now I am being really critical. Overall, it is fantastic to have this classic movie in UHD HDR. One of my favorite movies of all time. Its fun to watch and, while violent, it's really about the power of belief. (sorry to get off on a tangent)
