  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Non-Kaleidescape Gear Marketplace"? 🤔

To sell gear on the forum, you need to have a current "premium" (paid) membership on the forum.

The Kaleidescape Owners Forum doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. The fees for these premium memberships for people who sell gear here is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

To summarize the tiers of membership:

    • Registered (free) members can participate in any discussions anywhere on the forum, message other users, download favorite-scene files and script files, and reply to any marketplace listings.
    • "Supporter"-tier members (as little as $15 for 30 days) can also make listings in the Kaleidescape (ONLY) gear Marketplace in order to try to sell Kaleidescape gear.
(Supporters can NOT make listings on the Non-Kaleidescape Forum)
    • "Premium" and "Patron"-tier members, (starting at $50 for 6 months) in addition to many other benefits, can make listings to either of the marketplace sections here in this forum section.

For more information on the benefits of a paid members, or to purchase a Supporter, Premium or Patron membership, please see the Account Upgrades section of your user profile.

Looking for a Core Mk 1 from a dealer who is willing to ship to Thailand. Obviously I will take care of import costs.

Can be new, open box or one you’ve taken as a trade-in, but I’m looking for as good a deal as possible of course. Buying new locally is not an option as the pricing is not attractive.

I am not interested in any other model, so no upselling please :)

Thanks!

I can possibly help. I tried to PM you, but it seems you have that option turned off, so please PM me and we can discuss. Or if you'd prefer, you can email me at dlcphoto at gmail dot com.

Just a word of caution, you might want to confirm you'll be supported in Thailand should that become necessary. Not sure if their policies have changed, but a while ago I was told they track unit sales by serial number and they support the local channels by only supporting sales that have been purchased through the local distributor/dealer. That may or may not be accurate, I never checked, but it would be important to know for sales outside the US. I hope they do support it, but I guess worst case it could also be returned to the Seller for service if ever needed.

If the product is purchased in the U.S., you are correct that warranty work would need to be done in the U.S. The OP is indicating there is no local dealer, likely not a distributor either, so his choices in this regard are limited. I have worked with several people in similar situations, and it hasn't been a problem, but more of an inconvenience having to send it back to the U.S.

Sorry, I based my comment on this comment in his post: "....Buying new locally is not an option as the pricing is not attractive."

I read that comment as meaning they have dealers there, but he doesn't want to pay their prices. Obviously I have no idea if they have a distributor there, or a relationship with one in the area, and frankly would be surprised if they do.

I didn't read it carefully enough, and you're right. I might need to get that clarified with madVR.

Thanks for the heads-up. I will find out.

There is no dealer in Thailand - the distributor in Singapore covers Thailand but the retail price in Singapore is over US$7k, and I’d then have to pay import duty and Thai sales tax on top of that.

If MadVR have some kind of region locking on their systems to actively support this pricing strategy, then that would be ‘disappointing’.

Understood. I only mentioned it because many of the manufacturers we work have protected territories and when one of our overseas clients asked about MadVR, a Dealer I spoke with said he couldn't ship to Europe. I don't work with the Mad folks, but commented only because of your location. It may not apply at all, they may be fine with that sale to you.

I doubt they have any region related lock out, if anything it would likely be contract related with their Distributors (like the one you mentioned in Singapore).

OK update - turns out there is a Thai dealer after all, so I am able to get locally for a slightly more reasonable price. Thanks all for the advice and comments.
