Does anyone have this set here in the US on the K system? Does it play? Per Amazon it's listed as Region 2 but the reviewers state it is actually region free. It is encoded in 1080i50 so one needs a player that converts 1080i50 > 1080i60 on the fly. Samsung players sold in North America do this as well as the Oppo universal disc player. Would the K system be able to play these discs? Thanks.

Region 2 is the DVD region coding used in Europe where as you are talking about Blu-Ray which are coded A, B, C etc. If you have a DVD version then you will need a Region 2 player to load the disk on to your K system but it will then play on any player. If you have the Blu-Ray version then you can load the film from any of your K Blu-Ray players on your system and if region free it will play otherwise you will need a player that matches the zone of the disk.

Mark H - thanks! Yes, you're totally right on the regions. I got mixed up there and meant to write region B so thanks for the reply!!
