Kserver-5000 Power supply & Ram

Good morning Forum,

Recently my server would not power up and likely the power supply. It was interesting to see that it was a Cooler Master 600W power supply inside. I've been looking at different options and brands. I have been eyeing up BeQuiet Dark Power 750W. Does anyone have any recommendations? I built my pc with a BeQuiet and they are so quiet.

I also noticed that the motherboard has two slots for Ram. Has anyone ever ever tried sticking another stick of memory in it?

Cheers,

Casey

I’ve added RAM to my 3U and 1Us. It makes the webpage interface faster (especially if you have multiple servers linked together). Stock I believe is one 512MB stick. I believe you can max out at 2X 1GB stick. I also upgraded the CPU to the fastest Intel variant of that generation, which also marginally helps with the webpage interface. I don’t perceive any difference when using the machines at the TV interface level.

Very cool. I’m a computer guy and just thought it was interesting. I have it apart to see what I can do with the power supply anyways.
Thanks for the information.
