KREADER spontaneously powering off

Well-known member
Has anyone had trouble with a KREADER (seemingly) spontaneously powering itself off? I have four of them (I know, they're old, but most of my content is on DVD, so having several of them makes importing a multi-season DVD set of a TV show fairly quick & easy), and several times lately I've found (the same) one powered off when I come back to it after leaving overnight.

Seems that the power supply would be the most likely cause--is there a source of replacements for these?

Thanks,
Heath

Hi Heath, I just checked the price list and there is no Service Kit (power supply) listed as being available for the KREADER from K. I'll reach out to them now to check if one of the other Service Kits listed would work and get back to you asap.

You may have to check the PS model and shop online.

Just confirmed with Support that they do not have a Service Kit for the KREADER. You will have to find one online. (Keep in mind the KREADER came in two versions (2000/2000e), the 2000 was built for U.S. only (120v), and the "e" version supported 120/240v with a switching PS.)

Thanks, Jim--didn't mean for you to go to this effort. (I could have emailed support, but thought I'd check here first in case someone else had had the same experience).

I wonder if the supplies are interchangeable (i.e. could I put an 'e' power supply into a US unit or vice-versa). Now that I think of it, I also wonder if the KPLAYER-2500 used the same power supply--I have a couple of those that are otherwise not useful to me.

The power supply used in the KREADER-2000 is the same as the one used in the KREADER-2000-E. It has a model number of SRP-40-A-2002.

The power supply from a KPLAYER-2500 is *not* compatible.
