Kaleidescape storage for 180 dvd’s $27,000

I always shake my head when I think back to the early days. I spent $85,000 on my first system. I stored 360 DVD's if IIRC. Sent video to 4 rooms. It was an incredible device, top of the food chain.....

I can remember I was one of the first reviewers to get the product, and before sending out the system, I had to sign all of these agreements AND the editor of Sound & Vision had to sign a personal guarantee for $35,000 that the system would be returned in good working order! He called me up and said, "Sciacca, I don't know what the hell this thing is, but you better not break it!" :)

Ha!, that's hilarious John! I remember how amazed I was at the ease of use, and bullet proof operation, as well as the incredible user interface. Very impressive in those days!

Haha $85,000 to store 360 DVD's. I just loved my AMX Max server. The biggest piece of junk ever

I've heard that, probably competes with Sony's 400 disc changer. Had 3, all failed within a year. No hard drive obviously, but much worse than the Vaults we have now.

I had a Max server at my place but luckily I never got it to a point I’d want to torture a client with it. The Sony 400 disc changer is in the top 5 worst products I’ve ever sold. I just kept a few at the office and when one broke I’d go swap it and drop the broken one for repair.
