Kaleidescape Standby Question

First day with my Kaleidescape and have it set to stand by mode so it can be ready to download when I’m away….Currently it finished downloading all movies I had queued and I powered it off…Also it did a kOS update already …I still feel a slight vibration and hear the fans spinning in the unit …While in standby mode does it just run like that all the time or at some point do the fans and hard drive stop spinning and await a command in Standby? ….Love the standby feature so I can download on the go but not if the units moving parts are running 24/7

The hard drive runs 24/7 in standby mode. It's honestly what you want. A HDD will actually last longer just continually running versus stopping and starting it all the time.
