K5000 doesn't load movies

The tray opens, and everything appears normal, but it won't save any movies to the server. It plays movies just fine. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Matt

What message are you getting on the "Import" page?

Jim

It is possible that the unit has been flagged to not allow imports? That feature allows the owner better control over what is imported into the system, but I don't think everybody knows about it.

Good point Mike. I'm still waiting to see if he is getting any messages.

It's working again

I think it knew it was in trouble, because it worked just fine this time. In the past, however, it just accepts the disk and does nothing. I looked back through the logs, and saw no errors from the last few attempts. I have had a couple of DVDs that say 'DVD cannot be imported'. But those wouldn't work on either of my players.

I don't known what to tell you, but I'll do a few more imports on this unit and let you know.

Computers!:)

The first thing I always do is reset all relevant components (unplug, wait, power back up. That includes not only K gear, but networking hardware as well). That usually works. If not, I then look to networking because the problems I've encountered over the years tend to be in networking (bad switch/router/cables/assignments, etc).

If all that fails, I call K support, still the best in the industry, IMO.:)
