NEWS: Invalidating out-of-warranty discs

I haven't seen this mentioned in the forum yet so worthy to note this news. Kaleidescape have recently had a change of mind about invalidating out of warranty discs. Previously K would not invalidate an out of warranty disc. Now they will, as long as the disc is healthy. That's good news for everyone with 750GB's who might wish to upgrade their discs to 2TB's. Now you'll be able to have your out of warranty discs invalidated by K, and thus be able to use them in a different server (i.e. you'll be able to sell them to someone else).

Good news indeed, always felt it a bit ... sad... that you would be stuck with a disc if K decided not to allow you to sell it (or use it in the case of the buyer).

wow, that is big news... and really helps the resale market here. thanks for posting it!
