Instant Replay?

Would love to see an "Instant Replay" button that can rewind in 5 to 8 second increments for that line of dialog you missed (a la Roku's remote) or any kind of skip forward/backwards function that the DVR's have.

I would also like to see that. I would also like to see slow motion but I understand that the current chip set will not allow for that.

The command exists because I have it in the Crestron module for Kaleidescape.

That is correct. It is available as both a control protocol command and an IR command.

For the control protocol, the command would be:
01/1/REPLAY:

This will cause movie playback to skip backwards 5 seconds. In all other areas, this command has no effect.
Details can be found at http://www.kaleidescape.com/files/documentation/Kaleidescape-System-Control-Protocol-Reference-Manual.pdf

If you are using the Toshiba IR codeset, the code is:
45BA A0

If you are using the Kenwood IR codeset, the code is:
B60C 19

Details (including the commands in hex format) can be found at:
http://www.kaleidescape.com/files/documentation/Kaleidescape-IR-Hex-Codes.pdf

But that button cannot be found on the Kaleidescape remote, correct?

Thanks for the info....can it be coded into a Universal Remote MX 900? (family room remote)

I have a Crestron in the HT, but would need the pros to program a button for that presumably.

I have the "replay" function coded for MX-880... I did it via the Kaleidescape-supplied Hex codes and the old Pronto files they (used to?) offer. Have had it for years and can't imagine using a Kaleidescape without it... it's a button we use all the time, just like on Tivo.

Not sure if my MX-880 files would be of any use to you... but could try. Easier to try getting the hex code to work...
