Increase in Server Capacity.

Just had a glance at the Kaleidescape website.

I noticed the stated bandwidth for 1U & 3U servers has increased. The servers are now rated for 9 BluRay and 50 DVD (was 5 and 45) simultaneous streams.

I am wondering does this increase in bandwidth capacity apply to servers already in use?

I don't know. I only have 5 BluRay players in my system so I cannot test my 3U server on more than that many streams.

Anybody have 9 BluRay players in their system?

Don't know, maybe jumbo frames are now supported by the servers....Where has Tom B. been lately? Haven't seen him on the forum here for a while, I'm sure he'd know the answer...

I hope this applies to servers already in use.

I have 2 BluRay players in use at the moment but will be adding more players. Bandwidth for up to 9 BluRay players is great news for me as I have the potential for 7 playback zones at present. I prefer to be well within maximum limits if possible.

Just need to make sure the network is in good order.

I have 9 at present. I could try playing them all once my system stops importing from a vault (I recently added a new vault and I filled it with discs).

The numbers apply to all current 1U and 3U servers.
