Including movies in the Kscape catalog that are not on the server

Hey there,

We're about to implement an awesome Kscape solution at our new house. We are starting with a 1U server full of 3TB drives, and have more BD and SD movies than storage space. We are putting about 80% of our movies on the server, and 20% will have to wait. I was wondering if it was possible to put the 20% of the movies not on the server into the Kscape catalog, and when choosing one of the movies not on the server, it would ask for you to insert the disc into one of the players?

I couldn't find any documentation so thought I'd ask the experts...

There isn't a way to do that unless it is vault storage you are short on and you have a BD on the server but not in a vault.

I'm not short on vault storage, I'm short on server storage. If I was short on vault storage, don't I still need the BD in the vault for the client to play it from the server?

Also, if I do have vault storage available, I guess it's not possible to put multiple discs in the vault, cataloged and available for playback, but not loaded on the server?

No, it isn't possible to do that with the vault because the vault cannot "play from tray" like an M500 can.

If you were short on vault storage but the movie was on the server, it would appear in the catalog but you would be asked to put the disc in the tray when you try to play it.
