Importing

Howdy Forum,
I'm new to the Kaleidescape world. I just purchased a 3U server and 3 Kplayer 5000's. I will be looking for an M class player soon as well.
I'm currently importing all my DVD's into the system and wondered if they are copied any different in terms of quality from an M500 or would the 5000 copy it exactly the same?

Thanks!

The same, all DVD importing is a bit-for-bit transfer.

The difference comes during playback. The M-series players have better processing, are Blu-ray capable, and better overall architecture.

As the 5000s are K-class devices, don't their drives technically have slightly faster speeds for reading DVDs (and CDs) than the M-class units?

I personally don't have experience yet importing with an M500 class device but I certainly was surprised at how quickly I imported my whole collection. 3 players at once. It was very slick. They are old players and could handle burning for multiple days. Says something about build quality I think. I do have 1 dead drive and 2 more that K says I need to replace but again old 750 hard drives with over 80000 hrs.
