• Thanks for visiting the Kaleidescape Owners' Forum

This forum is for the community of Kaleidescape owners, and others interested in learning about the system, equipment, services, and the company itself.

It is run by a group of enthusiastic Kaleidescape owners and dealers purely as a service to this community.

This board is not affiliated in any way with Kaleidescape, Inc.

The forum is free to use and most of the forum can be used by guests who are not registered....

... but we strongly encourage you to register for a full account. There is no cost to register for a full account.

Benefits of registering for a full account:

    • Participate in the discussions! You must have a registered account to make posts on the forums. You will be able to start your own thread on a topic or question, or you can reply to other threads/discussions.
    • Use the "Conversation" feature (known as "private messaging" on other forums) to communicate directly with any of the other users here.
    • Access the Files area. The "resources" area of the forum contains many "Favorite Scene" and Script files that can dramatically increase the enjoyment of your Kaleidescape system. Go directly to great scenes in your favorite movies, created by other owners, and add automation to playback of your system with Scripts.
    • You won't see this annoying notice at the top of every screen!😊

It's easy and free to register for the forum. Just click the "Register" button in the upper right corner of this page, and follow the instructions there.

  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Marketplace"? 🤔

All registered users can reply to other members' posts here in the Marketplace, to respond as potential buyer or ask questions of the seller.
However, only members who have paid to become "Premium" members or "Patrons" can make a new "for sale" post here in Marketplace.

Premium memberships can be purchased for as little as $10... a very reasonable fee in order to sell equipment here, far lower than the seller's fee would be on eBay or Audiogon or other sites. Our site doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. This small fee is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

For more information on purchasing a Premium or Patron membership, please see the Account Upgrades section of your user profile.

WANTED: If your're NOT a Premium member, post any "WANTED" items here. (Premium members can make their own "Wanted" post at the main Marketplace forum)

I'm looking for a shipping carton for an M700 disk vault.

Thanks,
Ken

You can get those directly from K Support for $95, includes shipping to you. (you might find one elsewhere, but most owners are keeping their boxes)

Wanted:1U power supply

Wanted 1U server power supply.
SVC-KIT-0020 Service Kit: KSERVER-1500 Power Supply.

PM me or post here if you have one for sale.

I am looking for a front bezel for my KSERVER-1500 and 3 KPLAYER-5000's.

If you don't find the KSERVER-1500 bezel used, they are available from Kaleidescape for $199 (no dealer margin on those, everyone pays same price). They do not sell the bezel for the KPlayers, so you'd have to find those used.

Player 5000 front bezel

I am not sure if the bezels are the same, but I have 2-Kplayer 6000 bezels and 1 5000 bezel if you are interested. Send me a PM

Thinking about a Strato player again. Anyone have a good condition used one they are looking to sell?

Small-ish Drive-Set for a 1U K-Server?

Hello, I'm looking for a small-ish drive set for a 1RU K-Server. I don't need anything huge; maybe a four disk 2TB set, or a set of 2 or 3 4TB drives, or maybe a set of 2 6TB drives? Anybody got an extra set laying around after they upgraded?

Thanks,
Cameron

Please sell me a new 2x4TB or 2x6TB disk-set

Hello, since I had zero responses looking for a used disk-set, would one of you Dealers please PM a quote for a new 2x4TB or 2x6TB disk-set for a 1U Server (I've already got two blanks)?

I'm in Washington State, and don't have a Dealer currently (I'm a former employee of a now defunct RESI / Creston-dealer in the NW, and bought my original 1U as an Employee Accommodation, so buying all used now).

I am a Certified Crestron Programmer with considerable Hi-end RESI and Commercial experience, so if you wanted to talk about a partial-trade for some remote programming, I'd be up for discussing that (however, I don't want to take work away from a fellow-programmer if you already have an established relationship).

Thank you,
Cameron

I have purchased 10 power supplies from Seasonic and only need 2.
I've sold 2 on Friday to another member on the forum, and am selling them for $120 + shipping. They are the exact manufacturer replacement for the 1U server that Kaleidescape was selling for 120. It took me 10 minutes to replace and powered up the server immediately. If you are interested, pm me, and I can accept payment via PayPal.

FYI you can't just buy the drives at Best Buy they have to be from Kaleidescape. Also dont know why they are quoting you $1000 when you can get a 4TB off the website for less then $150

New 6TB. drives

The new 6TB. drives retail for $ 895.00 ea.
There's not a lot of margin in them but you can sometimes find them a little cheaper.
Keep in mind once you get your new 6TB. drives you will have to ether reload all of you content or you will have to replicate it from another 1U server.

I understand about the replication. I have two 1U servers and am hoping to get it down to one single unit. Once I upgrade to the 6TB drives, I will be selling my 1U with 4X4TB unit.
Any sources for purchase of the drives?
I am not a dealer, just a consumer.
Thanks,
Chris
