How much DVD playback delay: Disk Vault?

When playing back DVDs from the DV700/M700 via a K player, what is the start delay compared to playing BR file located on a K server?

There may be a slight difference between systems, but after seeing your question I checked with a stop watch and got 4 seconds for both DVD and BR (4.2 and 4.6). That has improved over time, I remember testing this many years ago and IIRC, I was getting 5 - 6 seconds for DVD and something less than 10 for BR. Those times were from the "Play Movie" option. In the very early days of BR, I remember getting 10+ seconds, which was still much better than the old start times from a non-K BR Player. Haven't tried a standard BR Player in a very long time, but suspect they've gotten faster as well.

Thanks Jim, but just to be sure: for DVD I am talking about the time it takes for the disk vault to select the disk, spin up, and play (as DVD is now played from disk and not from a hard drive, since the court ruling). I would suspect that the delay is greater when playing a movie from optical disk vs. from a hard drive.

I remember reading from K that playing a DVD from a disk vault will take up to 45 seconds to start, depending on the disks location in relation to the reader inside the vault.
