HDS Media Servers

Call it what you want, the courts found that K violated the agreement they signed. I don't care what HDS does, they haven't been found to be in violation yet. And I am free to oversimplify my opinion as much as I feel. Your agreement IS NOT required. :D

Im also not here to police the "community". I guess that is.....your job!

No they didn't. The case was settled. There was no ultimate judgement that the courts rendered.

If you don't see value in what K provides great. But don't try to back it up with uneducated comments. I used to build my own media servers too, I even pushed a piece of software that does what plex does along as a user/forum moderator and decided that it wasn't worth the hassle to try and keep up with the new copyright protections anydvd has to be updated to combat. That's why I bought a Kaleidescape.

That and I could afford it.

You can have whatever opinion you want, but don't come in here bashing the subject of the forum with personal views related to K's affordability and start telling someone factually untruthful information.

Let's keep it friendly guys.....:)

(This IS the Kaleidescape OWNER's Forum, but we do welcome additional opinions. One common thread among all open forums is that you get all kinds of personalities commenting, some people just don't feel good unless they can bring negativity to a subject, you see that in every forum. I'm fine with that because it's easy to identify and ignore those people if one chooses, but frankly they often contribute to the conversation, even if we don't want to hear it.:))

We have always strived to keep exchanges in this forum on a friendly level, so let's not get into name calling. Good old fashioned educated arguments are welcome, rude comments are not.

Well said Jim.

HDS & XBMC provide a solution as does K, they are just different with pros & cons so you evaluate, pay your money and enjoy your choice.

For music and remote access so as to enjoy music wherever I am I love Plex on my Netgear NAS accessed from my iPad or PC and I wish K had a remote solution for when I am travelling and don't need the same level of quality that they provide but they don't so as is often the case you have to combine solutions and make the best of what you have or is available
