HDMI Sync issues on old K players

Has anyone ever had problems with the hdmi handshake dropping with older players? Also- are they particularly sensitive to heat?

Only really had the video flat-out drop once, but I don't recall which player I was using at the time. As to the heat, mine seem to be able to take it well so far.

Never had any heat or HDMI issues with the older Players when they were directly connected to the display, but did have a few handshake issues when I was using a VP in the chain, and this was always the VP's fault, not the Players.

I had some issues. If you don't even get the kaleidescape menu then you have some definite issues. With mine, it would drop out when I play a movie but their tech support asked me to play Kalahari and it played fine. Turns out it was an issue with the HDCP handshake not working.

I never had a heat issue with any of my players.

I never had any problems with my older players which were the second gen of the 5000 player I think. As far as heat, I found them to run cooler and be less sensitive than the current M300. And maybe a little better than the current M500. The M300 must be so jammed with goodies in there, mine are all in cabinets and I have a few that I am forced to keep the cabinet open to help its cooling, whereas before I didn't have to. Im going to address this by enhancing airflow.
