This is probably a dumb question, but is HBO it's own studio or is it distributed by a larger studio? Getting HBO in the store would free up a lot of disc vault space!
 
Well then that is on the wish list! It's annoying how I can stream their shows anywhere but I can't buy the episodes on blu-ray until right before the next season comes out. I could see if they only let you stream via HBO Now/Go but you can get them everywhere.
 
HBO is a division of Time Warner. The other two divisions are Warner Bros. and Turner Broadcasting System.

As far as I can tell, all three divisions operate fairly independently.
