From BARCO:

Medea is our entry level 4K UHD projector, with up to 6,500 ANSI lumens, laser phosphor illumination and custom Barco Pulse electronics.

Painstakingly designed, optimised and manufactured in our European design centers, Medea delivers unprecedented performance in small to medium sized media rooms and dedicated home cinemas.
Professional grade optics
Medea’s optical engine architecture is world-class, built from custom designed aspherical glass elements and enhanced low dispersion glass lenses. The resulting image quality is simply outstanding.
State of the art "Pulse" electronics
Our “Pulse” electronics are built on a superior FPGA platform, featuring a dual core processor on the industry’s only 20 nm SoChave, with 96 transceiver lanes delivering 3.3 Tbps of serial bandwidth.

Thanks to our unique single step processing technology (SSPTM), Pulse electronics are designed to process 4K UHD, HDMITM 2.0a, HDCP 2.2 and HDR10 signals with extremely low latency. This provides exceptional gaming and movie viewing experiences.

RealColor
Barco’s RealColor processing enables simple and accurate calibration to your desired color gamut and white point.

Award winning DLP technology
Medea utilises the very latest 0.66" DMD from Texas Instruments which features a 5.4 Micron Micromirror Pitch and a ±17° Micromirror Tilt (Relative to Flat Surface). This technology allows us to display flawless 4K UHD (3,840 × 2,160 px) images.

Laser light source
Light on demand, allows you to adjust light output to match the time of day and/or content you’re viewing. Medea’s long laser lifetime means you can treat it like a TV, whilst still getting the big screen experience. 20,000 hours laser usage equates to 5 hours viewing every day for 11 years.

0.66" DMD™ can you give more info on that chip? is it 4K native or shift like the DMD 0,65?

"0.66 DMD" refers to a specific type of DMD chip used in Digital Light Processing (DLP) projectors. Here's a breakdown of what the terms mean together:
  • 0.66 inches: This is the diagonal measurement of the square or rectangular DMD chip. It's an indicator of the chip's physical size.
  • DLP: Digital Light Processing, the display technology developed by Texas Instruments.
  • DMD: Digital Micromirror Device, the core component of a DLP system. It contains millions of tiny mirrors that reflect light to create the projected image.
In essence, "0.66 inches DLP DMD" describes a DLP projector utilizing a 0.66-inch DMD chip, known for its ability to produce high-resolution images, often including 4K UHD, due to its size and associated pixel-shifting technology.
Key Points:
  • Resolution: 0.66-inch DMD chips typically have a native resolution of 2716 x 1528 pixels.
  • Pixel Shifting: To achieve 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160), these chips use pixel-shifting technology (like Texas Instruments' XPR) to shift the pixels on the chip to display a higher perceived resolution on the screen.
  • Image Quality: Projectors with 0.66-inch DMDs can produce sharp, detailed images, making them suitable for home theaters, business presentations, and other applications where image quality is important.
  • Performance: The size of the DMD chip impacts resolution, brightness, and overall image quality.

Since it’s been on sale for awhile I will need to confirm the amount of time. Barco sells warranty packages so that can always be added with the purchase. I have lowered the price which could help with purchasing a warranty from them. Contact me to discuss further. This one puts out an incredibly sharp image with beautiful color.

You've been trying to sell this projector for over a year on various forums. I have a suggestion.

Get an independent 3rd party valuation for tax purposes then donate it to a legitimate charitable organization such as a community center where multiple people can enjoy it. Perhaps a charity where children spend time and would appreciate it.

I have personally done this with some of my equipment (projector, Lumagen, etc.) and it's rewarding regardless of the tax implications. In fact, I was willing to do it without the valuation but the person who accepted the equipment insisted on providing me a donation receipt.
