Fix subtitles after pause

It’s a small thing but subtitles will usually turn itself on after you pause a movie. It’s annoying to drop the remote sit back and get comfortable before realizing I need to grab the remote for subtitles.

Weird that other apps have this same issue. I believe Apple does this too.

I have noticed the auto-subtitles on replay appear too low on the screen initially, then shift to the correct position after a couple of seconds.

You are saying that subtitles turn on every time you go from pausing a movie to playing it? I don't think I've ever seen that with either my Strato C or E.

It’s happened so often I figured it was just a quirk everyone had to deal with. I’ve had this with a V, E, and S. It doesn’t happen every single time but it does happen a lot. We use my living room S during dinner so I see it most often in that room

This was discussed a while back - it's considered a feature rather than a bug. But it should definitely be user configurable since not everybody wants that to occur.

Yeh they added it relatively recently if you use replay they will activate and if you go back more than 30s they stay permanently on.

I personally hate it and always have subtitles off and asked for it to be an option since it didn’t do it before and that’s how I liked it.

If I set subtitles off it’s because I want them off permanently unless there are foreign languages.

Mine are not permanently on. They turn off after a while.

Strato C reigns supreme!!!

Actually I have no idea why mine disappear.
Probably not rewinding far enough. If less than 30s they only play for the duration of the rewind and then turn back off.

I’m not normally quick enough with finding the remote and deciding if I’m going to rewind to do it within that time 😂.

Kind of a weird feature to forcibly add. Considering pausing the movie is a common step you’d think it would be a little more involved

I may have misread your post. You're saying that when you simply pause the movie, and then hit the play button, the subtitles come on? If so, that's different from what I was talking about, where the subtitles come up when you press the button to replay from 10 seconds back. This does make sense, since many times you would jump 10 seconds back because you didn't understand what was said.

But even then, it would be better it it was user configurable.

So to confirm - you're simply pausing the movie when you see this happening, and not jumping back 10 seconds? That sounds odd, and if you're using an automation system rather than the remote, perhaps something might be misconfigured?

that’s exactly the issue. Closest thing to automation I have is EArc. It’s definitely annoying and others have posted about it too

I can definitely see why that would be annoying. I have a Strato C, but always use Subtitles, so I'll need to turn this off and see if mine shows the same behavior. And I assume you're using the KScape remote, or control it with the KScape app? If you're using a Universal Remote of some type, which has to 'learn' the signals, that could conceivably be a source of the problem, if the wrong signal is sent. But it doesn't sound like that's what's happening.
