Does Terra have IP control over it's "soft-on/off" like the front panel button does?

I am fairly new to K and have two questions on this powering up and down issue.
I own the V and only use it on weekends. I turn it on on Friday and then I have been turning it off on Sunday via the remote “ off button “ and then cut the power to my system rack which in essence pulls the plug. Is this hurting the V?
I am considering adding a Compact Terra - so same question- can I do the above on- off procedure- or will this harm the Terra drives?

Depends on the type of Terra. If not an SSD model, then yes and no. It causes additional spin-up cycles (more stressful) but reduces the amount of time spinning without use. Each has their own risks and reasons to be avoided, but neither is inherently worse than the other. If it is an SSD model, then there shouldn't be any problems, given such a short period of being unpowered.

Either way, being powered off will, however, prevent updates and other background tasks from happening during the lulls.
