Considering downgrading my internet speed.

Hi guys,

I'm considering downgrading my internet speed from 150 mbps to something like 75 mbps. i just checked my movie download log and everything hovers around 60-70 mbps in terms of speed. Do you think it will stay that speed if I drop to 75? Would anything else in my system be impacted? I just think I pay for way too much and i dont even stream things that often.

Interested in feedback.

I have 75Mbps (Fios) and my downloads average 73-80Mbps. Speedtest gives me consistently 82-84.

Your downloads from the store should remain at the speeds you're currently getting. However, keep in mind that you would only have a 5 Mbps buffer you could potentially saturate your internet connection when downloading from the store so other processes depending on internet connections could be adversely affected.

So if you do downgrade your service, you might want to consider setting a throttle on your system downloads (on the store's Download page) to cap it at 70 Mbps to ensure that you always have that 5 Mbps available for other uses.
