Cinema One Discontinued.

Kaleidescape announced they are discontinuing the Cinema One. There are new systems still in stock and these are available for purchase until supplies run out. Of course K will continue to service and support the system going forward.

I assume disk upgrades will also be affected by this move, so if you are considering upgrading your C1 to 1TB's, I'd make that attempt as soon as possible, before the opportunity is no longer available.

This is a business decision based solely on declining requests for the C1 because of the introduction of Blu-ray support by K. Obviously, anyone wanting BR capability orders one of the larger systems.

Hmm, I was always wanting one of these systems to put in my next car.

I was thinking that with the 1TB drives, the C1 server would still not be bad for BluRay if they could incorporate an M-series player but the vault restriction would really ruin the image of a self contained system in one small box.
