App not finding server

Hey gang, just got my new to me Strato S and set everything up and have confirmed I have wired internet connection but for some reason I can not get the app to find the server. I tried putting in the IP address and even switched over to WiFi to see if it would find it then. Neither did anything. In the unit I can browse and purchase with no problem but the app just won’t find it. Anyone had this issue in the past? I can see it in the network and even created a static IP…notta. I also can control and see it in the GUI by directly putting in the IP in my browser. This would be on my phone and that works but the remote in the app on my phone does not. Ideas?

  1. Just to confirm, you mean the mobile app, and not Second Screen?
  2. If you try to visit my-kaleidescape or my-kaleidescape.local from a browser on the device, does either resolve?

Correct, just the app.

Local browser does see it without an issue. I can change settings etc. The app sees the download but when I try to use the remote it says it can’t find the server. I have tried to manually input the IP (same one as Kaleidescape.local) and it still says it can’t find the server. This is what it says

Are you entering the IP for the player or server? Should be the latter, but you could always try the former.

I believe the player. I don’t see where it says a server IP. Is that what I’m suppose to be using? I don’t see the server IP anywhere

In case you ever need it, you can enter the IP address of a device followed by “/lskd.html” to see all the Kaleidescape components on your network.
