Anyone upgraded memory in a 3U? or have pics of disassembly?

Guys, not judging here, but keep in mind that ANY modification of a Kaleidescape system or its components is a violation of the Service and License Agreement that all owners have accepted when they registered their system. K reserves the right to terminate any and all support, including KEAOS updates to any such system. In addition, a modified system cannot be used in any upgrade program, or as an out-of-warranty return in exchange for a remanufactured component. For example, some owners with OOW failed 3U's have returned those and paid a discounted price to receive a remanufactured unit. In this process, a deposit is given to K for the return of the defective 3U. The returned 3U goes through an inspection when K receives it, and only after this inspection is the deposit returned to the owner. If they find the component has been modified during the inspection, they can return it to the owner and keep the deposit.

Also, if a modification occurs while the component is under warranty, the warranty is voided.

Just something to keep in mind when considering any mods to K components.

Thanks for pointing this out, Jim. I was aware of the warranty implications, of course, but am out of warranty. The other issues will probably keep the screwdriver in the pocket for me.
