Anyone near RDU who has an M- or DV-700 they would loan or rent me for several days?

I don't have a Blu-Ray player in my Kaleidescape system. I had planned to buy one next spring, import a bunch of discs, and use the disc-to-download option on the store.

I'm wondering now if I should try to accelerate this process while I can, but a vault really isn't in the budget at the moment.

I wouldn't want to fool with shipping, so is there anyone in Raleigh or Durham (or nearby--I'm in southwest Durham, near the mall) who has a vault they'd loan me for long enough to import ~150 Blurays? From what I've read, that's about a week, plus however long it takes to load and unload them.

Thanks,
Heath

If your intention is to import the discs, then convert them to downloads (so that you don't need a Disc Vault for disc presence), then you would probably be able to do this much more quickly by using an M500 and either doing the disc-to-digital offers directly from the Movie Details sheet that appears when you insert each disc, or cataloging your discs (it's an option towards the bottom of the menu on the Movie Details), then doing the offers from the Movie Store.

With that technique, each disc would only take maybe a minute to process, versus probably an hour to import.

The disadvantage is that it would be more hands-on than just throwing the discs in the vault to fire & forget.

Good luck!

Okay, thanks. I'd still need an M-500 (my M players are 300s), but this sounds like another good route.

I don't love the idea of loaning out a vault, but wouldn't mind loaning an M500. Problem is I have a deal done to sell it all. Assuming the payment comes through, it's not mine to loan. :(

Thanks for the offer, Donnie. Hope your deal works out, but if it doesn't I'd take you up on the M-500.
