Announcement: Kaleidescape Mobile App for iOS, v2.0

There are also a few things that Second Screen supports that the new Mobile App doesn’t handle yet. Playing a disc in the tray, for example. It also has dedicated buttons for creating new favorite scenes. There are a handful of other things, but the plan is to eventually surpass the functionality of Second Screen in the Mobile App, except for music. Because the music features of Premiere are not being actively maintained anymore, that functionality will not come to the Mobile App.

I have the new 2.0 app downloaded on my iPhone and iPad. The "My System" tab works fine on my iPhone but on the iPad I get a message that "No Kaleidescape players were found on your network." I checked settings and it has the correct IP address. If I follow the "Connect a system..." prompt it defaults to the correct IP address but cannot find the player. I also noticed that on the iPad the "Remote" tab cannot find the player (it prompts me to turn it on which is different behavior than the iPhone which finds it and asks me to tap to turn the player on). I did use the Remote feature from the iPad successfully with the old version. I tried power off/on for the iPad but no luck. I checked the About screen in both versions and they are the same 2.0.0-1092. Both iPhone and iPad are running latest IOS (26.4.2).

I'll reach out to support. Just posting here in case anyone else has a similar issue.

Go to iPad settings menu, find the Kscape App and make sure Allow to Access Local Network.

@MikeKobb can we include an improved scene and script creation user workflow, plus persistence through updates, as part of the mobile app roadmap*? Shouldn’t add too much eng resources. 😁

Make sure that the IP address that you've entered is the address of your server, not one of the players.

Apologies if I have missed it but collections are mentioned a lot in the posts but the feature I use the most on second screen is the 'collections' button that brings up the collections on the system up to the screen (for various reasons I don't use the K remote and its in a cupboard :)). From what you have said Mike it sounds as if this will be replicated in due course which would be great. Great to see things are being pushed on. :)

I’m not completely sure what you’re asking. Are you talking about opening the Collections view on your player’s onscreen display? There’s a button for that (and the movie list and the covers view) in the Remote tab in the app.

If you’re asking about viewing the collections in the app itself, yes, this is one of the features of the new release. You can see all of your collections in the app in either a covers grid or a list presentation.

... so will favorite scene creation, editing, management come to the new app at some point?

Mike - apologies for radio silence with your response but I have been distracted by 'life' and only just got back to 'fun' and this one :).

I am sorted now is the simplest explanation.
The long winded one is that I typically use an iPad or an Android phone but when posting previously I had quickly looked on my 'better half's iphone. I had clicked on everything that I had expected to show collections but not 'my system' because I associate that phrase with the player, the servers etc. rather than the content. I have since posting managed to stumble across it having received your reply and the other posts make sense now. I assume the android phone app will probably add this feature later but TBH it probably suits me to use the iPad for this anyway. I found it on there this morning. Thanks - all good stuff. Keep it coming :)

Could an update be made to the My System menu to enable the displaying of all downloaded movies on the system rather than just those that fall under the highest parental rating? I have my player set to only display movies up to PG-13 but it would be nice to either see all movies under My System and/or have the ability to change/toggle the parental rating for what is displayed in the My System menu.
