  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Marketplace"? 🤔

    All registered users can reply to other members' posts here in the Marketplace, to respond as potential buyer or ask questions of the seller.
    However, only members who have paid to become "Premium" members or "Patrons" can make a new "for sale" post here in Marketplace.

    Premium memberships can be purchased for as little as $10... a very reasonable fee in order to sell equipment here, far lower than the seller's fee would be on eBay or Audiogon or other sites. Our site doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. This small fee is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

6TB still wanted

I still need a 6TB drive. I had a great dealer, but isn't anymore. I know they are not 999 dollars so I am looking for someone with decent pricing not price gouging.
 
Just fyi, it's not price "gouging" by dealers. Retail on the 6TB's is still $995, and given the small margin for dealers most sell at full retail. Why full retail? Because it's the dealer that has to process and keep up with the order, prepay K, and be there to follow up and process any future RMA should anything happen to the drive (not to mention they are actually "in business"). Those that might discount do what they can, but if you're looking to save a few hundred, forget it, those margins do not exist.

I realize drive pricing is a sore subject for most K owners (maybe all), but K is also in business, and has to support a large employee base, and they have priced they're components accordingly. My comment here is not actually aimed at you, it's more to remind owners of the realities of K pricing.
