5U Server Not Powering On and Replacement Question

Hey, my dad's 5U Server that he purchased when it first came out will not power on. When I click the power button on the front nothing happens. I bought a used working PSU of the exact model that is inside the unit and installed it and it will still not power on. Could it be a different issue?

Assuming its completely dead, if I buy a used server that already has drives installed, remove them and install all of the drives from the dead unit, will that allow me to retain the movies currently on the system?


I appreciate any insight on this.
 
Assuming you're correct regarding the PSU (i.e. it's a good PSU and reinstalled correctly), then it's probably something on a board.

Yes, you can remove the drives in a working 5U, and install ALL of your current drives in that 5U.
