For 5U Server owners: Someone was kind enough to share this information about a 3rd party power supply that works for a 5U Server WITHOUT the need to modify the Server case. Although this is an eBay seller with an apparent limited supply, the power supply model is referenced and I assume can be sourced elsewhere if needed. (PS model # is contained in the link.) IMPORTANT: Be sure you buy the correct plug orientation (check your 5U). Some are vertical, some are horizontal.

Here is the link:

The 5U server i have has a plug that lies horizontally and the one referenced on eBay is vertical. has anybody located one with a horizontal plug? Ive purchased a new Rosewill Photon power supply with the correct plug orientation, but i rather not modify the case if i don't have to.

Thanks!

Just to confirm, the SPI460PFB2 power supply that was in the link works perfectly.

I was on vacation when one a customer's 5U went down. No lights or anything. Told the customer to buy that model on Ebay that matched his plug and I would install it when I got home. It was identical to the one in his server and got his 5U back up and running for about $60.

Thanks Jim!
