So I sat down to watch my 4K HDR of "Patriot Games." It’s identified as 4K. But my AVR and projector say it’s a 1080 file. I tested other HDR titles - and same thing. Is there something happening with the K-Store or am I taking crazy pills? I watched a 4K movie yesterday. And nothing changed between yesterday and today... Any idea what is happening??

4K titles down to 1080?

Possibility that your cable is failing?
I thought about it...but these are very recent cables, BulletTrain. And the Menu is in 4K. But as soon as I launch a movie, it goes to 1080.
Also, just launched AppleTV - and everything plays in 4K.
Have you tried checking the Video Capabilities and Status on the player web page? It can help identify any issues in the video playback chain.
