    Transcoding request

Keep in mind at the end of the day, the one-time capital cost of storage space is likely to be significantly cheaper than the ongoing operational cost of managing different compression schemes etc by software.

    Keaos 3.6--status of updating

Mine loaded up yesterday... 3.6.3-5967. The Philips Pronto TSU9400 support is FANTASTIC.... everything I could have hoped for! Really pleased :)

    Keaos 3.6--status of updating

Same here... still at 3.5.4-4427. Not in a big rush to move to 3.6, but the new integration with Philip's TSU9400 Remote will be a nice welcome. Right now for Music only, I have to either switch on my Plasma, or use a PC to navigate.

NEWS: Kaleidescape to support Blu-ray! (official)

Absolutely brilliant! Glad I made the K investment.

KEAOS v3.5 - Details on iTunes integration ("Kaleidescape Conductor")

This is excellent stuff! With over 1,000 CDs in my system and growing though... I don't want to replicate all of them into my PC... So, how comprehensive will the "Music from Collection" capability be? Would I be able to manually select which albums to sync onto the PC, and alter that...

    IR codes for Alphabets?

I've been a New Order fan since their Joy Division incarnation actually :) Not sure I know the answer to your question, however, even if the bug manifests itself in such a system as you describe, direct URL access to the Control panels should be possible (and is in fact is a lot quicker too!).

    IR codes for Alphabets?

The good folks at K confirmed its currently a bug with music-only licensed systems. Josh, you're absolutely on the right track, K support sent me those exact URLs with my serial number, and they work perfectly. I've just saved them as favourites on my browser for quick access. Everythings...

    IR codes for Alphabets?

Right, so its a problem!... :( My system does not display the Control Panel section at all. Its currently only licensed for Music and only in one zone (although I am using a MoviePlayer2), I wonder if that has something to do with it. I'll email K about this...

    IR codes for Alphabets?

Wait a min, I just realised maybe I'm missing this... Just re-reading the Installation Guide, and checking the "Home" tab via the web utility on my system, it doesn't have a "Control Panel" selection for the "Web Utility Control Panel"... I've got Java running on both my Vista and Mac laptops...

    IR codes for Alphabets?

Dizzman, thanks for your response. You're right, there aren't any IR codes for the Alphabets. I wrote to K support and the good folks there confirmed what my local dealer mentioned. Its a pity though since my Pronto NG works superbly well for all other aspects. Nevertheless, the continuous...

    IR codes for Alphabets?

I've been programing my Pronto NG TSU7000 with the K-scape IR codes... Noticed the list K makes available on their website doesn't have any codes for Alphabets (only numbers and commands). Does anyone have a list of IR codes for the Alphabets that they can attach here? Thanks.

    1U Server noise level?

As a reference point for anyone else reading this thread... a quite concert hall measures at an ambient noise level of about 30dBA, a quite library typically measures at around 40dBA. An audiophile room might typically measure considerably lower, but that would be at the listening position...

    1U Server noise level?

Hi folks, I'm new to the forum and about to pull the trigger on a basic K-system :) One of the concerns I have is the noise level generated by the 1U server especially for Music as my system rack is kinda nearby. Has anyone measured the noise level produced by the Server with a Sound level...
