Mostly designed to work from a laptop. If you're using a desktop in another room, the best this could do is you start it from Popcorn Ready and then right when the first trailer now playing bar pops up on the bottom in Popcorn Ready you could hit pause. Then walk to the theater and hit play from the remote and I think it should continue to play the full pre show routing and the chosen movie. Not sure what would happen if your computer goes to sleep though as the local helper is running on your computer and that is what is sending the commands to play the trailers, movies, etc

I understand it better now, thank you. I am in fact using a laptop in my home office, but I do use it like a desktop. Maybe at some point in the future there’ll be some way to get that play button into the theater.
I do appreciate your rapid responses, and creating this in the first place. It seems you’ve advanced to an incredible point in just minutes, based on the web access K makes available. It kind of feels like Home Assistant, where the community fills in the blanks. I’m looking forward to taking your scripting solution for a spin soon as well. I think you said that your process ensures more durability than the default creation flow. I’d love to see that. I find that my scripts are made obsolete by updates, and I have to stay on top of them to keep them valid. I’ve posted a feature request to fix that, but maybe you’ve pulled that off in those same few minutes as well!

installed the helper locally (Win 11), but the extension keeps saying "local helper not running". Closed Chrome multiple times and even rebooted my laptop.

I downloaded 3.0.1 and it appears to have installed but still getting "Helper not running". I have restarted Chrome several times. Did the Check again a few times as well.

Hmmmm…I will have to have Codex get me a few commands for you to run to debug. I will be at my computer a bit later this morning.
The script rewrite feature is working well for me. If you already have some scripts with unavailable steps just go into the script rewrite page and try it out. If the same scenes exist on new copies of the movies it should automatically update them for you when you click rewrite and then you can save your changes.
Same for me as well. I've installed the helper 3 times now and it seems to install just fine without errors but keep getting the "helper not installed" message every time. I restarted the browser but not Windows. Also, I'm using the Edge browser. Should I be using something else?

I have a Windows machine for my golf sim that I can test on later.
I had tested on Parallels on my MacBook before release and that package worked but that is ARM.

There´s actually nothing to chose from with the installer. You just click on "install" and then you get the progress bar and then you click "Finish" to exit the installer.
OK, so you are on Edge and also using the Windows AMD64 package for Intel/AMD chips? I can test that one as well. Should be similar to @DieZwei issue.
Are you running the Flatpak version of Google Chrome? If so, try to run the command below to copy the native-messaging manifest into the Flatpak Chrome config area and grant the sandbox access to the helper binary:

Popcorn Ready Local is running, but it cannot reach local Kaleidescape hardware. Confirm this computer can reach your Kaleidescape network and that local firewall rules allow Popcorn Ready Local, then check again.I can ping my Strato from the PC running Popcorn. No firewall rules in effect that would block it as far as I am aware.
I can access the Strato Web GUI from the same laptop/browser that Popcorn Ready is running on.
For Windows AMD64 users: not great timing, but my PSU must have died in the past few days on my only Windows machine. I'll need to get that replaced before I can really test that install myself. In the meantime, I'm pushing out a new release of the helper as I think it's not correctly finding your Popcorn Ready chrome extension so they can't talk to each other via Native Messaging.
I'm curious if on your Chrome from Bazzite, do my-kaleidescape.local / my-kaleidescape local web pages resolve fine?

Bazzite (and any systemd-resolved distro) .local is hardcoded to go to mDNS via nss-mdns, never to your upstream DNS. Pi-hole never even sees those queries.I was able to add a localdns to my pihole using .lan and that seemed to work ..at least from browser:
So something about the .local is not working with Bazzite.
Success....just had to add "192.168.1.61 my-kaleidescape.local" to my /etc/hosts file.
Doing this remotely from work so wont be able to play with it til later.
