Big 'ole box of Rambo incoming from Lionsgate. Every movie in 4K Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos, including the alternate cuts of IV and V. Audio commentaries and alternate audio tracks on titles. All prior audio/video issues corrected. A dedicated 4K UHD Blu-ray incorporating all previously released Extras.

HOPEFULLY this means that Lionsgate will also update the digital offerings for the titles. The alternate cuts have specifically been a digital challenge with the "John Rambo" (IV) cut previously only appearing on Amazon Prime. Unfortunately K is very hit-and-miss with Lionsgate updates so if you're interested in seeing these titles at their best, get a request in to: movies@kaleidescape.com

I've tracked down/imported discs to get all cuts, so I'll almost certainly be buying the disc set and hope I have the chance to buy on K.

Ordered the Rambo set today. Hopefully the digital updates follow suit. Fwiw, i have the coveted Ltd. Ed. 4k steelbook collection as well which came out few years ago. But this upcoming release is arguably the definitive version.

Where? Who's selling it? I had read it was an Amazon exclusive and have the spaceholoer bookmarked.

EDIT: I see now that it went live briefly, but it wasn't at the link previously provided by folks like TheDigitalBits. D'oh!

Yeah it was live for a while earlier today. I had been checking multiple times a day, on a daily basis. Hopefully they restock soon.
 
Can’t bring myself to replace my discs and files sincd I already have the first 4K HDR box and the K versions. I’d rather spend time, space, money, and retail preorder hunting stress on movies coming to 4K HDR for the first time like Arrow sets.

I've been monitoring the digital offerings on Apple and Fandango at Home (Vudu) to see if any updates have taken place on these titles. I'm not seeing any obvious changes, with the exception of Rambo V: Last Blood on Apple TV now including the Extended Cut in 4K HDR (available as a separate HD-only purchase on FaH). Unfortunately, the same is not (yet?) true of Rambo (IV). Maybe these will be early titles in the new MoviesAnywhere agreements and we'll see more Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos across the board?

Lionsgate released a second batch of boxed sets for order on Amazon, and my prior pre-orders have been moved to this second batch so I apparently won't have discs in hand for comparison until August. D'oh!
 
I have the new 2026 Rambo Box Set. Those who ordered it won't be disappointed, so hang in there. It doesn't happen often, but this is another case where the 4K disc's are much better than Kaleidescape.

I have only watched First Blood and First Blood Pt 2. Both are definitely an improvement over Kaleidescape and other 4K presentations. I've watched them with a Christie projector on a 14ft screen and there is distinct improvement in color grading/saturation, details, as well as a slight uptick in clarity. This is one of my most favorite movies and have collected most iterations over the years. This is the best presentation to my eyes of these films. Hopefully Kaleidescape can upgrade at some point in the future.

Ordered it right when it originally went up for preorder, checked on the order earlier and low a behold its now telling me it'll ship in august. Amazon without fail always manages to jerk me around to no end, on all of their high demand 4k releases. I truly believe a good portion of their most wanted preorders get redirected to their beloved scalpers..
 
Yeah, Amazon is terrible with pre-orders and ship dates. I've repeatedly ordered "right away" only to find that on release date I'm looking at an extended delay or no date. When available, I've been able to place a new order and get it immediately with plenty of time (after delivery) to cancel my original pre-order.

In the last month I went from having a Speed Racer 4K Steelbook pre-order arriving on release date, to being pushed into September, to seeing new waves of pre-orders and current orders go in (ahead of me supposedly), and finally having it shipped without warning and arriving this week. Roller coaster, man.

Same thing happened to me with the Tron and Elm Street steelbooks. Tron dropped in mid September and they had it quickly rushed to me by mid December. That Speed racer steelbook looks cool though, I sat on the fence too long and missed it, ended up purchasing the K version though. Looking forward to checking it out. Anyway hopefully I'll get that Rambo box by October. In the meantime, Im also all for an audio/video update on the on the K set.
