The forum is free to use and most of the forum can be used by guests who are not registered....

... but we strongly encourage you to register for a full account. There is no cost to register for a full account.

Benefits of registering for a full account:

    • Participate in the discussions! You must have a registered account to make posts on the forums. You will be able to start your own thread on a topic or question, or you can reply to other threads/discussions.
    • Use the "Conversation" feature (known as "private messaging" on other forums) to communicate directly with any of the other users here.
    • Access the Files area. The "resources" area of the forum contains many "Favorite Scene" and Script files that can dramatically increase the enjoyment of your Kaleidescape system. Go directly to great scenes in your favorite movies, created by other owners, and add automation to playback of your system with Scripts.
    • You won't see this annoying notice at the top of every screen!😊

It's easy and free to register for the forum. Just click the "Register" button in the upper right corner of this page, and follow the instructions there.

  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Marketplace"? 🤔

All registered users can reply to other members' posts here in the Marketplace, to respond as potential buyer or ask questions of the seller.
However, only members who have paid to become "Premium" members or "Patrons" can make a new "for sale" post here in Marketplace.

Premium memberships can be purchased for as little as $10... a very reasonable fee in order to sell equipment here, far lower than the seller's fee would be on eBay or Audiogon or other sites. Our site doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. This small fee is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

For more information on purchasing a Premium or Patron membership, please see the Account Upgrades section of your user profile.

WANTED: If your're NOT a Premium member, post any "WANTED" items here. (Premium members can make their own "Wanted" post at the main Marketplace forum)

This is a "BUYER'S ONLY" thread. Please do not post "For Sale" items in this thread. They will be deleted. To keep the thread manageable, Seller's desiring to respond to a WANTED post need to contact the potential buyer by Private Message (PM) or using whatever method (email, phone) requested by the buyer. All communications between Buyer and Seller are to be done outside of this thread. NOTE: It would also be helpful to both buyer and seller if the potential buyer (the person posting in this WANTED thread) would include their location (up to you how detailed you want to get, but at a minimum consider including your country).

The goal here is to have a single WANTED post by a potential Buyer, this will make searching easier for Sellers. After concluding a purchase, Buyer's should edit their post to reflect no longer looking and I will delete these threads periodically.

PM me with any any questions or concerns, please don't post questions here.

One additional point, if a Buyer wants to post their own thread, and thereby dialogue with Sellers by posting in the thread, that's fine, but does require a Premium subscription (min $10 for 30 days) be obtained to start their own thread in the Marketplace. This "Sticky" thread is here for those that would rather not purchase the Premium membership.

Anyone have "new" add-on disk/s for a K2500 / 5U Server?
Ideally, I'd like a "factory-fresh" 1TB, but would be open for 750GB or even 500GB if that's all that's available. With support ending, I'm looking for ideas on how to support the really old Servers.

BTW; I'm in Washington state. Thx!

Guys, PLEASE, keep your communications private, either by using emails or PM's. As I requested in the first post above, the individual posts should only be by a BUYER looking for K components, as this will keep the WANTED listings easy to follow for potential sellers. If we start adding back and forth communications it will burden this section with too many posts. I will temporarily leave up the most recent posts, but will eventually delete them to keep this thread better organized, and will delete any non-conforming posts in the future.

It would be helpful if those looking for a component insure they can receive Private Messages (PM's), or add an email, or phone number to their Wanted listing.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.:)

Jim

(I just removed posts that are not looking for components.)

Another one of my M500 players died. I'm being offered a refurb from Kscape for $2000. Has anyone had any experiences with these vs getting a new one? My only concern is the thing dies on day 91, but they're such a reputable company I'm tempted to think there's a slim chance of that happening. Just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with refurbished players and what "refurbished" actually means (i.e. new motherboard, etc).

Joe, sent you a PM. (I'll delete this post tomorrow.)

Disk Set for K2000/K2500 5RU Server?

Anyone have any disk sets around for a 5U? I have a unit that has two failed disks, so it's either find a new disk set or sell it off for parts.

Thanks, Cameron

I've been wanting a K system for a long time but could never quite afford one. Now that they're going out of business, I figure there will be many getting rid of them. I'd be interested in anyone selling a CinemaOne or Alto for an affordable price, and I mean affordable :). Thanks!

Pricing could swing either way, we need to wait for the dust to settle on this to see what affect it has on used market prices. There is a possibility that prices might rise, particularly breaking Kaleidescape components down into spares. A bit like used aircraft. As a whole they might not be worth much, but break them down into bits and pieces and they are worth a whole lot more.
