It's easy and free to register for the forum. Just click the "Register" button in the upper right corner of this page, and follow the instructions there.

  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Marketplace"? 🤔

All registered users can reply to other members' posts here in the Marketplace, to respond as potential buyer or ask questions of the seller.
However, only members who have paid to become "Premium" members or "Patrons" can make a new "for sale" post here in Marketplace.

Premium memberships can be purchased for as little as $10... a very reasonable fee in order to sell equipment here, far lower than the seller's fee would be on eBay or Audiogon or other sites. Our site doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. This small fee is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

For more information on purchasing a Premium or Patron membership, please see the Account Upgrades section of your user profile.

WANTED: WTB: Premiere 3U server - Purchased

Substance

⭐️⭐️PATRON⭐️⭐️
My target is to have a grandfathered Premiere 3U server with 14x 6TB drives. I am interested in 3U units that has a pathway to this target. Therefore I am looking for a functional Premiere 3U server with one of the following conditions or close

-3U unit with 6TB drives (more the better)
-Case only, no drives
-3U unit with fewer and lesser capacity drives (to be replaced by a new set of 6TB drives later)

I am located in Laguna Niguel, CA 92677. That’s an hour south of LA and an hour north of San Diego. I would much prefer a local pick up and I am willing to drive a few hours from this location.

I am willing to pay market value based on the previous sales here. As for references, I have completed two purchases from this forum since I joined a few months ago, including one with the forum admin. I use uderman and substance as usernames in other forums I have been active on. Please reach out if you have a 3U unit for sale with the above conditions.

I just wanted to add, I am willing to cover shipping if not a local sale. Thanks

Sirgadget sold me an empty grandfathered 3U chassis and I populated it with brand new 6TB kdisk drives. My communications with sirgadget have been great. I ended up buying a DV700 from sirgadget along with the 3U server. Both items were shipped rapidly and arrived as expected. These purchases complete my Premiere System for now:)

Substance was a joy to deal with, smooth easy transaction, can definitely recommend him to other sellers and buyers :)

I have been importing discs day and night for a couple of weeks now. I have 4 Vaults therefore importing 4 discs at a time. Each import takes about 2 hours, this equals to about 40 discs a day. Of course this process is completely automated. I know some people compare Kaleidescape to HTPCs. I spent about half an hour feeding 1280 discs into 4 Vaults. It will take about a month or so to complete the rips without needing any more of my attention. Imagine doing this on an HTPC (even with multiple disc drives), you would need to swap discs every 2-3 hours.
