What’s up with subtitles?

We often watch movies with subtitles in our family room area (vs. theater). I’ve noticed so many movies that skip sentences, etc. never consistent. What’s up with this? We have an Encore system. Thanks. SJ
 
Just watch the HD version of Die Hard, a Christmas staple. Lol. Sentences missing. Some movies are a lot worse. SJ
 
I've experienced this once or twice in the past, obviously a studio issue, or maybe just a limitation on the software being used to convert dialogue to text??

In the past, when I used to rip my own Blu-Ray movies, there was a separate *.srt subtitle file that would be extracted. Occasionally (but quite rarely), I'd end up with a corrupt one. I wonder if it would be worth deleting and re-downloading the films that are giving you trouble, then see if you can duplicate the trouble.
 
Not sure if anyone has bought Lolo from the store, a 'nice film' in French but with 'hard of hearing' subtitles so includes phone ringing, church bells etc as well as the translated dialogue. The hard of hearing parts are perfectly timed however the dialogue translation is generally a sentence behind as though it was being translated on the fly like when watching live news.
Anybody else seen this?
